The philosophy in the Gasthof Stern is that of a clear understanding of Bavarian cuisine, which at the same time ensures that health conscious options and traditional cuisine are no strangers, and actually work in unison. Bruno Wallmeier and his head chef, Achim Laufer, have made themselves experts by studying the field of health conscious nutrition. It is for this reason, that you will also find low calorie dishes, like vegetable strudel, or oven baked potatoes with tomatoes available alongside the typical Bavarian roasted pork knuckle. The kitchen allows itself to be guided by the time of year, but also combines the exotic with this traditional approach, which always leaves room for good surprises. On Thursdays from mid-June, lovers of shoulder steaks, meat dishes, or grilled fish can enjoy food directly from the outdoor grill if the weather is good. Mushroom dishes can be found on the menu from the end of July. You can guarantee that, wherever possible, local produce, like the white fish from Lake Staffel is used in the kitchen at the Gasthof Stern. As long as the weather holds out, meals can also be enjoyed in the adjoining beer garden.
